Back in San Jose, Costa Rica after 9 wonderful days exploring the mountain regions photographing all kinds of great bird species.
The number one target on our trip was to photograph the male Resplendent Quetzal in breeding plumage which we managed to accomplish. This was one of those bird photography moments that makes your heart skip a beat when it comes together.
This image does not show the extent of the wonderful elongated breeding tail feathers that the male carries in breeding season but I liked it because it flew to where we where shooting from, landed on this perch and ate a wild avocado right in front of us :)
