The entrance to the ancient rose-red city of Petra is through a narrow corridor, known as the Siq, which stretches for over 1km and seems to go on forever, shutting out both light and sound, until suddenly, you catch your first glimpse of the Treasury.

What's equally amazing, is that there's just a small window of time, after the site opens, before the crowds, when the locals start to arrive.
