This shot was on my bucket list of places to photograph. It is inside Canyonlands National Park in Moab, Utah. At sunrise the morning sun rises above the canyon floor and bathes the bottom of the arch in a rich golden hue.
This is certainly not a lonely arch. It is a mecca for photographers working on their own bucket lists and each morning the location easily becomes what I call "combat photography." With a mere 6 spots to set up a tripod and shoot the arch it is critical to arrive many hours before sunrise in order to ensure a spot. Latecomers receive no mercy from early rising camera geeks! But the shot was worth it.
