I still have a few photos from our short visit at the flinders Ranges to post but I thought I'd switch around the order a little and post one of the last shots I took before some of the others.
The day before I took this we had spent an entire day just exploring the ranges and i'd used this opportunity to hopefully try and find a sunrise location for the next morning (our last morning).
That day we'd taken our 4WD through some of the incredible scenic trails in the park and I'd found some rather remarkable vista's which all qualified as, undoubtedly, first class sunrise locations.
I had found a vantage point along the Bunyeroo Valley which I was simply in-love with but to get there involved some relatively long distance dirt trail driving, all of which would have had to have been done in the post-dawn, wildlife intense hours so I instead opted for something a little more accessible.
This is a shot taken of Wilpena Pound from Pugilist Lookout. Whilst still being outside of the national park getting here from Hawker in time for first light proved just as challenging as I had feared with the wildlife bringing us to a stop every few hundred meters.
If I ever return to this wonderful part of the country I'll do so with the resources and time to camp throughout the park and photograph more of this stunning and unique landscape.
