The holiday season dining table was never a site for traditional food fare in our house. Being in a mixed marriage makes dining such a wonderful experience.

My mother-in-law cooked up a delicious piping hot bowl of spicy beef and pork with rice noodles as our main entree for Christmas Eve dinner. On the side were salad with chicken and shrimp, Vietnamese spring rolls, crème brûlée, pandan cake and pandan and coconut jello.
