It's impossible to run in snowshoes.
I scrambled around like an idiot trying to capture the great light with great winter conditions at Crater Lake a few years ago, and while the photo may not be perfect, the experience is one I'll remember for a long time.
Also, having a 30 degree (F) sleeping bag that doesn't fit when it's 15 degrees at night is uncomfortable.
