Nice job Tim. Interesting lighting. I prefer the female RWBB to the males . . . think they're much prettier and more varied. They're also more curious and seem to present themselves in better photo opps than the males. This is a real beauty.

Thanks for the positive feedback on this photo, Bill. I see you called the bird in the photo a female. That's interesting because that's what I thought it was at first, but Stephen Stephen pointed out that there was a lot of black colour in the feathers and thought it was an immature male (see our interchange on p.2 of the comments). Based on his input and my agreement with his observation, I changed the title from "female" to "immature male". I'd be interested in getting your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I'll defer to Stephen's expertise on this Tim. To further confuse the issue, RWBB's also present in numerous subspecies, including a bi-coloured blackbird, and I'm a long way from being able to identify them in all their phases and forms. Thank you Stephen for the correction. I learned something today.
