Close-up of a Eurasian hoopoe (Upupa epops) with a freshly caught catapiller, Hungary.
Same hoopoe and location as the previous image, but taken a few days earlier, using a different camera (crop sensor rather than full frame). The hoopoe was collecting food for its young and would perch near its nest before flying in (sadly, the nest was inside a not-very-scenic old concrete storage silo in a field). The green background is a soft focus treeline on the other side of the field.
