This building sits at the bottom of the Ben Franklin bridge (a block away) and used to be Metropolitan Hospital which was a very strange place as it's configuration was just as it is now. I had my foot operated on there the first year I lived in Phila. and let me tell you I know why they went out of business. Now it is an Apartment/Condo and they never changed the configuration of the building so lots of the units are with these rounded walls.
I personally have no idea why people would want to live there unless they were within walking distance of their Center City jobs. The reason being is that on the side you are seeing all the traffic goes down that street into "town" for work in the morning and on the other side all the traffic is going to the bridge or the highway to get home. Can't be pleasant if you are trying to do the same thing.
