Just saw one of these big boys in our backyard today taking chucks out off one of our trees. Been visiting a couple times, yet to get a photo of it. Great photo of this Woodpecker. In fact...it is a female one as well in our backyard. Wonder if she is flying back and forth? Tell her to come pose for me. :) Nice shot Barb.

Beautiful capture of this lovely bird, Barb. Superb plumage detail and patterning and so well exposed on the black and white. Our weather has been the same as yours ........feels like forever :(. We might be getting snow tomorrow though.
