I found an old Darda car set in the closet and decided to set it up to get a photo of it, initially thinking about a long exposure, but then deciding jumping would be cooler once I found there were some missing track pieces so I couldn't make a nice loop... I did some long exposures of the car jumping too, but liked the crisp look with the Speedlight firing and making a shadow to bring out the perspective.

The whole thing took about an hour to set up, get acceptably lit, and get a good enough shot. We ran the track next to the tripod with a u-turn (the green thing in the back) so we didn't have to move for trial runs. Once we got a good shot I played with the car some more. :)

One other thing, I actually chose the Latin Dictionary and the Robert Graves novel since I'd been found out that Bill McCormack 500px.com/wmccormack and I both had studied Greek and Latin Classics in University. They made the shot a little dark - I'd thought I'd had a orange Darda car that would complement the colors, but I couldn't find it - probably it's in a landfill with the missing track pieces.

I might over-think things sometimes. :)
