This is the tallest building in Michigan topping out at 750 feet. Construction began in 1973 and was completed in 1981, though the majority of the structure was completed in 1977 when it became operation!

The central tower is the tallest all-hotel skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere, at least according to my notes.

The structured was originally financed by Ford Motor Company, but has been owned by General Motors since 2004.

Architecturally the building is modern and was designed by John Portman.
