This is not an abstract painting, but rather the natural art of the Colorado Desert in Southern California. This particular shot was caught on my flight from Los Angeles, and is of the southwestern part of the Palen Mountains, right off Interstate 10. The Palen Mountains are located in the southern Mojave Desert - northern Colorado Desert border. The aerial view is from my south-facing window.
What I love so much about aerial photography is how the landscape changes so drastically - especially western North America - that the view out of your window truly becomes one massive work of art, in such beautiful and abstract ways that you can't help but take hundreds of photos and admire the natural occurrences of the Earth.
