This is the main church of Florence (plainly called the Duomo). It is a UNESCO world heritage site and a major tourist attraction of Tuscany. It is situated in the Piazza del Duomo. It's construction was started in 1296 and structurally completed in 1436 and the exterior was layered with marble in the 19th century. Our guide said the Duomo has still not been completed !! the Duomo consists of the Basilica, baptistery and Giotto's Campanile (Bell Tower).
