This shot was taken in a scenic town called Alappuzha (also called Alleppey) in the South Indian state of Kerala. The outskirts of the town is a long stretch of road flanked on either side by paddy fields and back waters. It is a very beautiful town with its lush landscapes, flourishing agriculture, palm tress and small streams and canals.
Soon after the Monsoon, the paddy fields are harvested. The egrets wait by patiently to feast on the frogs and other small organisms that teem this field.
Was driving towards another major city in Kerala called Cochin when I came across this town. Spent a mere 20 minutes capturing this place. Would definitely be going back to this place to fully explore this very picturesque town.
It is popularly referred to as the "Venice of the East".
