El Parque Natural de las Hoces del río Duratón está situado al noreste de Segovia. Este paisaje está dominado por la roca caliza originada en la Era Secundaria, hace 140 millones de años, por la acumulación de sedimentos en el lecho del antiguo mar que por aquel entonces inundaba toda la actual península Ibérica. Esos sedimentos marinos dieron lugar a la formación de rocas calizas, que con el paso del tiempo y por efecto del agua y las condiciones climatológicas se fueron fragmentando y desgastando dando lugar a las actuales hoces.
En esta zona, el río se ha encajado en un profundo cañón que, en algunos lugares alcanza más de 100 metros de desnivel.
Al interés y belleza del paisaje hay que añadir la gran riqueza arqueológica e histórica que encierra en su interior esta garganta.
En los altos farallones rocosos anidan un buen número de alimoches, águilas reales, halcones peregrinos y casi 500 parejas de buitres leonados. Estos tienen una envergadura en torno a los 2.5 metros y con su vuelo majestuoso es el rey de la comarca y el atractivo principal del Parque Natural.
También se pueden practicar deportes como: Piraguismo, senderismo, bicicleta, ruta en globo, ruta 4x4, espeleología ...
La Gastronomía de la zona es una delicia. Entre sus platos típicos cabe destacar: la sopa castellana, los judiones de la Granja, caldereta de cordero, asados de cordero, cochinillo o tostón, y platos de trucha que aportan los ríos serranos de las cercanas cumbres.

The Natural Park of Sickles Duratón River is located northeast of Segovia. This landscape is dominated by the limestone originating from the Secondary Era, 140 million years ago, by the accumulation of sediment in the bed of the ancient sea which was then flooded the entire Iberian peninsula today. These marine sediments resulted in the formation of limestone, with the passage of time and by water and weather conditions were fragmented and is wearing current resulting sickles.
In this area, the river has been embedded in a deep canyon, in some places reaches over 100 meters.
When interest and scenic beauty is compounded by the very rich archaeological and historical encloses this throat.
In the high rocky cliffs nestle a number of vultures, golden eagles, peregrine falcons and nearly 500 pairs of vultures. They have a wingspan around 2.5 meters and with its majestic flight is the king of the region and the main attraction of the reserve.
You can also practice sports like canoeing, hiking, biking, ballooning route, route 4x4, caving ...
The local cuisine is a delight. The typical dishes include: Castilian soup, the beans from the farm, lamb stew, roast lamb, suckling pig or suckling pig, and trout dishes from rivers of the nearby mountain peaks.
