Way to go! You've jumped into the B&W world with a bang Jukka. The style you've chosen is unique; the trees and branches almost seem to have a "glow" about them! In some areas the style seems slightly different, e.g. just lower right of center is brighter and softer than other areas, e.g. top right corner - darker and "moodier". It's fun to experiment in B&W isn't it? You have to look at things slightly differently. Anyway, good start! I look forward to more in the future. And thanks for the plug, I'm honoured! :-)

Thanks Ron! :) B&W world is so strange to me, but I thought I'll give it a try. Normally I process my images keeping in mind how did the scenery look like at that particular moment, and then making the adjustments according to that. But as you said : b&w needs a different point of view. In this original color shot, sun hits quite low to these snowy branches giving nice warm , red/orange tone. And yes in the middle , there is some fog raising from water, and that part of the image looks odd, kind of lack contrast and glow... But with my know how couldnt help it, without changing the overall image.
I'll keep on practicing ! (and you're welcome! :)
