Sometimes looking back is very important. For instance when you're photographing something as mind-blowingly-overwhelmingly visually stunning as La Sainte Chapelle, it's good to looking behind you and check out the other side of the chapel as well since there's immense beautiful waiting for you there as well.
And sometimes it's good to go back through your photo archives and discovering that fortunately you did look behind you and forgot to ever do something with that shot.
