Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park is a wonderful location for stunning sunrises and sunsets. While the sunrise overlooks the Porcupine Islands and Bar Harbor, the sunset is best viewed from Blue Hill Overlook at the sun fades into the horizon over the hills surrounding Eagle Lake.
One of my favorite aspects of this image is the detail in the foreground - I was aiming to capture the soft light on the lichen covering the mountain rocks.
