Down at Piha Beach during summer to catch the late Sunsets off the west coast. The sun dropped quickly and the skyline, although filled with deep blues and a painterly quality, was already quite dark. The tide was coming in quite rapidly so as I just watched for a minute I noticed the speed and ferocity of the waves rolling up the shoreline. As I set up, I set my shutter speed to capture the motion of the waves rumbling in without losing beauty of the beach itself.
