I've been going through my old photos that I took last year on my trip to Bandhavgarh National Park (India) and found a few that I hadn't uploaded before. This a photo of a six month old tiger cub. It was my first day at Bandhavgarh and we were told that three tiger cubs were spotted near a cave far away from the main roads. So we took an elephant safari towards the cave. The cave was pretty far up in the hills and it seemed as if the elephant woudn't be able to reach there. I was actually feeling bad for the poor elephant having to make the climb uphill. Suddenly we saw the cubs. All three of them! They were adorable. Their mother wasn't there. Two of them were running around playing and one was sitting on a rock in the shade (that is the one you see here). Seeing tigers out in the wild is really something different! The light wasn't very good because the little guy was sitting in the shade and the background was extremely bright. Although the exposure on this shot is not good I still like the photo because the cub was almost at my eye level and made good eye contact. Altogether we went on 5 safaris and saw different tigers during three of the safaris.
