A Cedar Waxwing tosses a berry up into the air before eating it! This bird tossed the berry a couple of times before swallowing it.

These beautiful birds arrive every year to eat the berries of the small fruit bearing trees planted around a shopping center in Newport News, Virginia. This was the first year I knew about it and I made the most of the one day I was able to shoot. The birds stay for about a week, strip the trees bare of berries, and then move on during their migration.
