Hello, all. Well, I’m back from my quick weekend getaway to Crater Lake. The weather forecast looked too good to be true, and I had to take advantage. How often do you get to winter camp in a place that receives 40 FEET of snow a year and not see a single flake? And the stars…oh the stars…

Anyway, this photo was taken from the west rim, not far from Discovery Point. I “discovered” the area this summer when I hiked along a trail here and found a couple sitting in folding chairs, sipping wine, and waiting for the sunset to paint the area with various shades of yellows, oranges, and reds. At that moment, I made a mental note that this was a place I needed to revisit, and it made for a great winter camp site.
