Thanks, Rafael. When in the field, I manually focus about 99.9% of the time. I check my focus at the highest magnification the camera offers before pressing the shutter and adapt it accordingly. After a couple of test frames, it also pays to check the images from corner to corner for focusing issues. Also pay attention to your aperture setting and choose it according to your specific type of situation. Generally, f/8 to f/16 is a good start for landscapes, depending on the lens and again, your shooting situation. If you have a super close fg, you can try f/22 (with its apparent drawbacks) or focus stack images for ultimate control and sharpness.
