Frayed are the fibrous strands of my heart
Because life's journey has been hard
Emotions run high
Sorrows dig deep
Valleys too wide
Mountains too steep
And just when once again level it seems
Knots and ties start tightening
As if to keep
Me bound to a life
One that is full of sorrow and strife
But I'll radiantly so shine because hope still abounds
And love of God is joyously found
In and by friends such as you in this place
Thus I'm determined to finish in this life's race.
Thank you for all you've done to make me smile each day
May you my friend be blessed also along your journey's way
