Owens river snakes through Owens Valley at the feet of California Sierra Nevada. The water flowing slow, first light of the sun just touching the mountains, and the moon riding high. Awesome place to be on a beautiful morning.
I stitched two shots together to get the wide angle view of this bend, which is pretty large. Full Disclosure on the moon, no it was not that low in the sky. The reflection position is true, but the moon was just a tad too high to be in frame so I shot it with a telephoto and added it in lower in post because the presence of the moon in the sky was a big part of the scene, standing there in person. I wanted to convey that in the photo. Plus I needed to add it back in a little larger, as the wide angle lens rendered it as just a tiny speck, which isn't true to what I saw with my own eye.
