This is a puppy from a small pack in Botswana. There were only two adult dogs. Sadly, one of these had a very badly broken leg and wasn't likely to live long. The single remaining dog would probably find it hard to hunt and feed her four puppies alone. Although it was wonderful to see the pack, it was also a very sad encounter knowing that they probably would not survive for too long.
There are only around 5000 wild dogs left in the wild and numbers are thought to be decreasing.
