Many thanks for your gestures of appreciation on “Frisky Business”, very much appreciated!
Unlike with Ying Yai and her sisters, today I'm right on the mark with wanting to celebrate the first birthday of Blossom and Lek, my favourite Clouded Leopard sisters I've been so fortunate enough to photograph over the past year since they were about two months old, born at Khao Kheow Open Zoo here in Thailand on 2nd March 2012.
Blossom is the one of the right with the more prominent markings on her forehead than the lighting markings of her sister Lek on the left; usually the easiest, and sometimes the only way to tell the difference between cats of the same specie is indeed by the markings on their foreheads, at first glance very similar, but on closer inspection completely unique.
“Siamese Spirits” seemed to be such a perfectly fitting title for this engaging picture of these gorgeous girls; Siam, as most of you probably know, is the former name of Thailand, and Clouded Leopards are native to Thailand, in addition to which, the word spirit of course has a number of different meanings depending on the context in which it is used, and any number of these meanings appear wonderfully apt!
Thank you for your time in reading this (if you have!) and wishing you all a thoroughly enjoyable weekend :^)
