Those who follow me know by now that I have a passion for silhouettes. Perfect moments in the first or last minutes of the day when the sun is magical. Getting good silhouettes of animals with the sun is relatively easy. All you need to do is position the subject between your lens and the rising or setting sun.The moon however is a different story. It does not happen every day so the chances of getting a shot like this are pretty slim. For now, I'm experimenting and having fun with these composite images in the hope that one day I will get it right in one shot ......... without having to blend two images.
This time I used a great silhouette of two baboons at sunset in Kruger and blended it with a full moon capture from the Kgalagadi Transfontier Park.
