Chestnut-eared Araçari (Pteroglossus castanotis)

It was hot during midday on our last jaguar photo tour, so many bird species would come to the little fountain in front of our lodge to bathe in the cool water. One of the most conspicuous one was the Chestnut-eared Araçari (Pteroglossus castanotis), a super-attractive member of the toucan family (Ramphastidae). I like how its feathers are just soaking wet, as if lacquered.
