A good friend called me up around 1:30am to let me know the aurora was out so I decided WTH I'll for a quick drive. I ended up back in the bean field and my friend joined me. While taking some shots we got to talking and decided to have some fun with strobes and long exposures. He and his dog posed nicely while I ran around with my strobe. For this photo I took one 1 minute exposure during which I ran out in front my friend about 5-6ft and fired off the flash with the built in wide angle diffuser my 580EXII pointed north or away from the camera. I then turned around backed up a couple ft, took off the diffuser and fired the flash again. This time pointed at him and towards the camera to create the silhouette and shadows. Right after I decided to shoot two 10min exposures for the star trails.
