Fort Jefferson was just basically one of the most awesome places I've ever been. So isolated, unique, and solitary. I had a lot of fun making some night shots. We had to stay on the side protected from the Westerly wind, which is the side that was modernly developed for the staff to stay in. Before visiting, I assumed the rangers were roughin' it way out here. But, come to find out, they built individual condos into the fort complete with satellite TV and internet. They still use the old cisterns for fresh water and generators/solar power given them all the comforts of home. There was even a hammock situated in one of those archways. Talk about paradise...
