Northern Cuiilin from the lower fall on the Allt Dearg Mor, above Sligachan. Credit to Marcus (www.marcusreevesphotography.com/) for tracking down this spot by careful map-work. Beautiful sunlight across this moor for an hour or so on a February morning: it was good to recce this spot on a previous day, work out the best time of day to shoot it, and take advantage of a convenient hour of sunshine later in the week - even though it meant missing breakfast!

This was my wide-angle effort here: it's good at last to have a wide zoom (the Nikon 16-35) that can take filters! The little fall was partly frozen, and there were patches of ice drifting aound in the pool at its foot.

Sgurr nan Gillean (peak of the young men), Am Basteir (the executioner) and Sgurr a Bhasteir from the lower waterfall on the Allt Dearg Mor, Sligachan, Skye. (The upper waterfall is nice too, but doesn't face the right way for a shot including the Cuillin.)
