This is one of many portraits I took in India. Indians love having their photo taken and more often than not the casual solo portrait would turn into a group shot as they summon their immediate family and the pet dog! It's taken me a while to get used to approaching strangers and making them feel comfortable enough to achieve results through the camera but confidence, a smile and a hand shake go a long way.

One of the highlights of India is exploring the back streets of old cities such as Jodhpur and bumping into charachters such as this guy. I was browsing a small shop looking at the fireworks which were on sale to celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali. Out of the corner of my eye I saw this man holding his camera phone up to his face; as he did, I turned around, put my camera to his face and we both took each other's photo followed by howling laughter. I have two shots, one with his mouth closed but I felt this photo portrays his cheekiness.... and then there's that tooth!
