The resort, which is located in the northwest area between Capo Gallo and Carini, was a fishing village and stood near the guard towers, one built in the fifteenth century, and another in the sixteenth century, which were part of the system notice of coastal Towers of Sicily. Both were destroyed when it built the A29 motorway. A tip Barcarello stood a tower-fort with the same purpose to guard against pirates and Turkish pirates. Among the oldest residences are distinguished villas Arezzo, Major Amari and Mansion House (the second half of the nineteenth century). A large part of the territory of Sferracavallo is inserted into the reserve of Capo Gallo-oriented, the stretch of sea that washes the fishing village, is part of the marine reserve of Carini-Chief Gall
