In Spanish "puerto" means "port". Actually this place is not famous at all, at least not found in Cancun travelling guides in TripAdvisor - but since it's where we booked our stay, we decided to check the beach out.
Turns out this place is very popular among people of their 40's to 60's - that is the only age group of people we saw here, no Spring breakers at all.
But there's a reason. It's not your typical "everyone-get-together-and-mingle" beach, but a place dedicated for snorkeling exercise. The water here is so clear, probably the clearest in the whole Cancun area and definitely better than water in the "hotel zone" (which is already amazingly clear and beautiful). There're dozens of boats waiting for snorkeling tour, and it's the most affordable way to go snorkeling if you come for vacation. I would strongly recommend this place, if snorkeling is what you're into.
