During the winter Japanese macaques like to bathe in natural hotsprings that are a constant 42C. With outside temperatures well below zero, it's not hard to imagine why they like to sit in the water so much. Hell, after a few hours of shooting I really wanted to join them and warm up a bit. :-)
This is one of the dominant males in the troop, always totally zen. The drops in its fur are the result of melting snow.
