This is one from our White & Wild Japan tour.

During the winter Japanese macaques like to bathe in natural hotsprings that are a constant 42C. With outside temperatures well below zero, it's not hard to imagine why they like to sit in the water so much. Hell, after a few hours of shooting I really wanted to join them and warm up a bit. :-)

This is one of the dominant males in the troop, always totally zen. The drops in its fur are the result of melting snow.

If you're interested in joining me on our next Japan trip and learn more about wildlife photography, please check out my website for more information and tour impression video clips:

Due to popular demand we have two tours to Japan next year, and both are filling fast.

Hope to see you there!
