From an afternoon trash-the-dress session in the Mexico Cenotes.I can honestly I've never had "camera keeps front-focusing on passing fish" as a technical problem before, but every day is a day of firsts. Combine my fish issues with using a simple point-and-shoot camera for the first time in ages (a Nikon Coolpix...there, I used a Nikon, Martin Hartley...happy?), I had a fun afternoon that tested me properly....but you know what? One of the most enjoyable days of photography I've had.About this image: all natural light. One of these days I'll afford a proper underwater housing for my Canon, along with a water strobe system, but Yellowknife is cold....and I know it would sit in a box most of the year.I'll post a behind-the-scenes later on this one, but this involved me snorkeling/treading water in 20-foot deep caves, with foggy goggles, hoping like hell some of these were turning out.
