In the dark early hours of the morning, an incredible light show over the beach just next to Jökulsárlón on Iceland's stunning south coast. A group of photographers I was leading around the area had all agreed to sit the night through, not wishing to miss anything over this location. Persuading them that five minutes down at the beach would be worthwhile wasn't hard - and as we walked down through the darkness the whole sky just erupted in light. The show lasted all the way to dawn, ribbons of green and purple dancing from horizon to horizon. I have to give credit to the 5D mkIII for this shot - it's something I would never have been able to capture before, but the ISO performance of this camera is fantastic...
