Every year on April 13 is the day when the Sikhs celebrate Vaisakhi or the Spring Festival. In Rome, the venue for this event is Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the navel of the multi-ethnic city. From here after lunch strictly free and vegetarian start the Nagar Kirtan, a procession along the streets of the Esquiline, which filled with music, joy and colors, the streets.In several states of India, the turbans are an essential part of men's clothing. The Sikhs maintain daily and everywhere in the country and the world, their perfect turbans which are then adapted in color for different professions but never removed. The standard type is known as double Patti or Nok, but there are various other types, worn by some particular Sikh brotherhood.
