Large format 4x5 | Kodak Ektar 100I knew as I was setting up for this shot that wind would be a problem. Most photographers avoid wind at all costs because it can blur the leaves. I don't mind it so much, so long as it can add to the atmosphere of the scene.Timing this photo was critical, as I needed 3 factors working in my favor. I wanted the top of the mountain to be lit up, and nice sunset colors in the clouds, and a brief moment of relative calm wind, to get minimal blur in the foreground brush.I used a a 210mm lens which is the equivalent of about 70mm on a digital camera, and set the foreground to be about 20 feet away. This would minimize the motion. I like that most of the foreground is calm, but that one patch shows some motion blur. I wasn't sure how this shot would turn out, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got the film back. Please visit my blog: www.ericbryan.net/blogor check out my web site: www.ericbryan.net
