Re-upload after making some processing changesI decided to head out last minute on a sunday afternoon to see what I could get for sunset that night. This is another shot in Palos Verdes, and I'm lucky that places like this are only 30 minutes away. I had questioned whether an attempt would be worth it the entire day because the weather had been so on and off all day. But, I did it.When I got there, and got out of my car, I almost left to go home. The winds were crazy, it was really cold, and lots of clouds. You have to hike down a pretty steep cliff to get to this area, and once I got down, it turned out the winds were a lot less than up on a cliff. Makes sense. So I was more comfortable, and glad I didn't leave, because just being here was awesome. The power of the ocean is so humbling. As you can see, the waves were beating this rock to a pulp, and putting on a big show while in the process. They would crash up and over, and then cascade down the front side towards me, emptying into the tide pool. The clouds were still hanging over, and it was starting to rain here and there, but I found a composition, and just decided to start shooting.20 minutes later... the sun peaked out and did this. I was LITERALLY yelling from my excitement, 'COME ON' at the sun. Yeah, total dork, down at a tide pool with a camera, yelling because the sun started shining. IT'S THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE! At least for the life of landscape photography enthusiast!I had lost hope for getting anything worthwhile, but was given a big surprise. I had nothing to stay dry, nor did my camera, so we both got a little wet... but luckily, we are both weather sealed. :-)
