Discovery Point, Crater Lake before Sunrise. No matter how many pictures I saw, it could not bring me the feeling that I have when I first step to the rim of the lake. I can't stop thinking this beautiful lake is truly a treasure of the world. It was fortunate for me to find out the West Rim Drive was open to Discovery Point. Because I was planing to walking to there from Rim Village parking lot with my snowshoes. The low snow fall saved me a lot of effort walking on the snow and one hour time on the cozy bed : )In order to take night shot and sunrise shot, I arrived pretty early in the dark after first day scouting. It was warm at the day time, but it was really cold at night, especially before sunrise. So after taking a few frames of this location under moonlight, I chose to keep myself warm in my car for an hour, waiting for the sunrise. The cloud turned out to be great, well worth the waiting.
