Loch Clair, Torridon, Scotland

Rich and vibrant Autumn colour was on display at Loch Clair with the deer grass at its most colourful and the birch trees laden with gold leaf sprinkled randomly amongst the Scots pine trees. The scene you see here was shot 40 minutes prior to sunrise and it provided superb contrasting hues of violet blue with islands of orange nestled between the reflected peak of Liathach. These intense colours are most often seen in the flattest and most leaden lighting and Velvia film makes the very best of that situation.
