Lost Lake, OregonNew low light abilities of digital cameras is absolutely incredible. Is this real? Yes. All this is really in the sky at this scene. Do our eyes see all this? Nope, not at all. Usually I try to share images in a manner that portrays the feeling of being at a place, how I feel there. This image goes beyond that and more so plays with the opportunity to show more than we can see, give a view deep into space and touch that part inside of us that wants more fantasy and something beyond us in our lives. Every night we go to sleep with these magical scenes rotating above us. Our city lights blasting a harsh, monotone yellow from our porches, while all sorts of colors, wavelengths and light signatures gently fall from space having traveled millions of light years only to be blocked by movie matinee signs. The yellow on the right is the glow of Portland, over 60 miles away from this location. That's my porch light, your car headlight, our intersection traffic light and the billboard promoting Comcast Cable tv blocking out the view of the galaxies beyond us. Dear Mr Edison, thank you for your invention, but... I think we may have taken it too far...
