Yesterday, I decided to go on an adventure to Pacific City with Lauren. It turned out to be an incredible day at the beach, but turned out to be quite an adventure! We had a wonderful day at the beach and were fortunate enough to get a really nice sunset-- but the adventure really started on the drive home. We left pacific city around 9PM and started driving north through the Tillamook State Forest. About 20 miles up the road, to my surprise my gas light popped on. I was kind of freaking out, as there were no signs of civilization and we had no cell service . We continued up the road about another 20 miles (and by this point I was waiting for my car to die at any moment) and finally saw a gas station! In total ecstasy, we pulled in, only to realize that it was closed and it is illegal to pump your own gas in Oregon, so the machine wouldn't even take my credit card. Now really freaking out, we drove another 15 miles up the road to a small town where we found three more gas stations, none of which were open. Finally after another 10 or so miles we found a 24 hour gas station in Forest Grove, and I put 12.2 gallons of gas in my car that only has a 12 gallon tank. After leaving the gas station, we started heading towards home, and drove for about 15 minutes in the direction that we thought was home, only to end up back at the same gas station... Forest Grove is a very odd city Long story short, it was a long drive home, but totally worth it!
