One of the first pictures I took with the T1i, Red Umbrella 77, is also my favorite. I was roaming the MIT campus and learning how the new camera operated when I came upon a young woman waiting to cross the street. The contrast of the red parasol [It's not an umbrella.] with the rest of the scene appealed to me and I quickly snapped a shot.
I was still new to photography so the camera was on mostly automated settings and in JPEG mode. If I knew then what I know now I would have shot in RAW and fixed the overexposed columns.
The title of the shot comes from the main object of focus, a red parasol that I mistook for an umbrella, and the address of the Rogers Building (popularly known as Building 7), 77 Massachusetts Avenue.
