Shot from captains Jim's boat, around San Juan Island. we found the orcas more than an hour after we took off from Snugg Harbor, and as you can see we were not the only ones. these giant beasts are so majestic, it's unbelievable. we followed a large group for about 45 minutes. i don't remember which pod it was exactly. probably a mix of multiple pods, if i remember well.
in these situations, the 300mm 2.8 L was a bliss. and without my x2 extender, as the boat was moving a lot, and i wasn't able to frame properly at 600mm, not to mention the loss of speed at 5.6
