No trip to the Palouse is complete without snagging a shot of this lone cottonwood tree from Steptoe Butte. It's one of the most compelling scenes out there and has been captured by pretty much every one of the Pacific Northwest photographers I look up to. Most shots I see of this scene are taken in the evening, but I wanted to try something different as the big fluffy clouds moved across the land in the middle of the day as the sun was directly overhead. I waited until two clouds lined up perfectly to isolate the tree, then I took my shot. It took a few hours to get this to happen, hope it was worth the wait.
Edit: Thanks for checking out my shot! If you'd like a print, they're available here!!
